It has just been a day since Apple refreshed its iPad Pro and iMac lineup and now online reports claim that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are coming next.
According to a report by TrendForce, the Cupertino-based tech giant will be launching a new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro in the second half of 2021 that will offer a Liquid Retina XDR display — just as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Back in January, a report by MacRumors that cites reliable tipster and former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had claimed that Apple’s MacBook Pro — expected to be powered by M1 processor — models are set to launch in the third quarter of 2021 offering 14 and 16-inch size options.
Kuo had also said that the upcoming two models in the MacBook Pro lineup will come with “the most significant design update to the MacBook Pro in the last five years.”
The report had claimed that both the models are expected to offer a flat-edged design, similar to the iPhone 12.
Another report by MacRumors that also cites Kuo’s research note in February claimed Apple is planning to bring back the HDMI port and SD card (Secure Digital card) reader to its MacBook Pro models in 2021.
The last MacBook Pro model to include an SD card slot and HDMI port was launched in 2015. It will be interesting to see how well this reintroduction will be received as this is likely to increase the thickness of the devices and over the years, the MacBook models have become thinner and sleeker.
