PUNE: A 24-year-old mobile shop owner from Rasta Peth got eight stitches to his head after he and his brother were attacked around 5pm on April 15 with a sharp weapon by four youths, including two criminals on police record, for refusing to pay donation to celebrate Ramzan Eid in Goa.
The Samarth police on Sunday arrested criminal’s Aman Khan (21) and Hamza Shaikh (19) and their accomplices, Mohammad Khan (19) and Hafiz Shaikh (21), all from Nana Peth on the charge of demanding extortion and damaging property.
Assistant inspector Prasad Lonare on Monday said, “The two brothers were present at the shop when the four arrived and demanded donations to celebrate Ramzan Eid in Goa. They threatened to disfigure their face and ransack the shop if their demand was not met.”
