THANE: Rabodi police in Thane arrested a 49-year-old man allegedly for murdering his best friend over a financial dispute.
The victim has been identified as Bipin Visaria 42, who had a carpentry related business while the accused is identified Rakshit Pakhare , a resident of Kalher. The accused and the victim got into a quarrel over monetary matters and the accused allegedly slit the victim’s with a piece of broken glass and killed him, said a police officer.
The officer added that initially after the body of the victim was found, the police registered a case of accidental death and sent the body for a post-mortem. In the reports it was mentioned that he had cut marks on his neck. Following which a probe was launched and during the investigation the police registered a case of murder under the Indian Penal Code at the Rabodi police station. The accused was produced before a magistrate court that remanded him into police custody till February 17, said the police officer.
