MYSURU: The Federation of Organisations and Associations of Mysuru (Foam) will launch a drive after the Independence Day celebrations to dispose of the used or torn flags across the city as per the flag code.
“Flags are being hoisted in all the houses, offices, and public places as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. But many people don’t know how to dispose of them. Flag code specifies the rules for the flag disposal. The federation will dispose of these flags respectfully as per the flag code,” informed BS Prashant, president of the federation.
“The public can hand over the used flags for disposal at the petrol stations across the city or at Gayatri Theatre located on the Chamaraja Double Road. We will dispose of these flags respectfully. It is our duty,” he said.
