Bengaluru: Denied sex, man kills wife & files missing complaint | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: An electrician from Bihar allegedly killed his wife as she denied him sex saying he was uncivilised and dumped her body in Shiradi Ghat. Later, he filed a police complaint that his wife of nine months was missing. However, police suspected something fishy and upon interrogation, he spilled the beans.
Pruthvi Raj Singh, a resident of Madiwala, has been arrested while his partner in crime, Sameer Kumar, is absconding.
Singh told police he was angry with Jyoti Kumari as she accused him of behaving like an animal and had lied about her age at the time of their marriage. Police have recovered her decomposed body from a gorge and sent it for autopsy.
Singh had come to the city two years ago and lived in Maruthi Nagar. Around nine months ago, he married Jyoti Kumari, a girl chosen by his parents. “At the time of marriage, she had informed our family that she was 28 years old. Later we found out that she was 38 and 10 years older than me. She never agreed to sex and insulted me and my parents by calling us uncivilised animals,” he told police.
Singh decided to eliminate Jyoti and called Sameer Kumar, a resident of Sitamarhi, to come down to Bengaluru and help him bump off his wife. Sameer landed in the city in the last week of July.
Strangled her in car
Hiring a friend’s cab, they drove to Udupi on August 3. Singh and Sameer Kumar strangled Jyoti to death on their return journey. The next day, Singh filed a complaint.
“Singh told us that Jyoti would leave home several times and later return on her own. Also, whenever she left home, her mobile phone would be switched off, he claimed. But when we checked, we found her cellphone was on earlier and only now it was switched off. We found the couple left for Udupi in a car on August 3,” police said.
