SILCHAR: Two men were arrested on Monday for allegedly killing a 30-year-old person in Anandkhal Basti of Moniarkhal gram panchayat in Assam’s Cachar district on Sunday night.
The arrested men were identified as Hareklal Majhi and Dinesh Majhi.
As per information obtained from various sources, the deceased, Sushan Majhi, went to his neighbour Sukurmoni Majhi’s house on Sunday night and enjoyed a liquor party with Sukurmoni’s sons Shibu Majhi, Hareklal Majhi and two neighbours Dinesh Majhi and Nanda Kumar Mura.
At one point, Sushan got involved in a verbal duel with the other persons following which Sushan was allegedly dragged outside the house, tied to a pole and allegedly beaten to death with a sharp weapon by the others who were partying with him.
