On Monday, the key accused Nilesh Pawar surrendered before the Solapur police and confessed to have killed his cousin Nathuram Pawar as he was not returning his Rs 1 lakh even after reneging from his promise of getting him a permanent job.
The accused Nilesh Pawar and his aide took Nathuram to the bushes near the crematorium under pretext of liquor party. After having booze, the duo accused brutally assaulted Nathuram with sickles and escaped to Solapur.
After Nilesh Pawar surrendered, the Solapur police informed Alibaug police, who reached Solapur and obtained his transit remand and arrested him. His aide is still at large.
“The Alibaug district sessions court has remanded him to police custody till March 27,” informed Shailesh Sanas, senior inspector of Alibaug police station.
