iOS 15 could bring change notifications, lock screen and more – Times of India

Now that the first big Apple event of the year is out of the way, attention has swiftly moved to the second one — WWDC 2021. WWDC, Apple’s annual developer conference will begin on June 7, where the company will unveil its latest operating system updates. A report by Bloomberg reveals what new features could come to iOS 15 — the next big update for iPhone.
According to the report, iOS 15 will bring new notification filters, an updated Lock Screen and major upgrades to iMessage.
The report states that users will have more control on how notifications are displayed on the screen of iPhones. iPhone users may have the option to choose display notifications based on if they are driving, at work or even sleeping.
Apple’s privacy crusade will continue with iOS 15 as well. What we could see is a new menu that will allows users to see what data apps are collecting from them. Apple’s next upgrade to iOS 14 — iOS 14.5 — will make it tough for apps to not be on the App Store if they don’t follow Apple’s guidelines by April 26. iOS 15 is likely to build on the privacy measures that will come with iOS 14.5.
The report also says that Apple might change the Lock Screen and this quick access to privacy data could be a part of it.
Apple is reportedly working on upgrading iMessage to take on WhatsApp in a big way. However, the report says that iMessage features might arrive only by the end of the year.
WWDC 2021 will begin on June 7 and run till June 11 and this is the first time rumours about what to expect from iOS 15 have surfaced online. However, the rumour mill will start working overtime as we move closer to the event date and we will hear more not just about iOS but also iPadOS, watchOS and macOS.
