ipl 2021: IPL 2021 Preview, SRH vs DC: Sunrisers Hyderabad face high-flying Delhi Capitals | Cricket News – Times of India

For the second successive year, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have a big injury setback. In the last IPL, they had lost the services of spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar and this season they will not have T Natarajan to bank on after the left-armer suffered a knee injury that necessitated a surgery.
Though they have like-for-like replacements for every combination, SRH will be put to the test by the high-flying Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second match of Sunday’s double header.
Also, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has not been kind to SRH. Three narrow defeats to begin with still rankle David Warner and Co., and they will be happy to leave for Delhi on a positive note.

If their bowling at death was an issue in the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders, they were let down by their batsmen in the next two as they failed to chase down 150 on a sticky Chepauk wicket, where Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians not only defended low totals, but once again brought to fore how much SRH depend on Warner and Jonny Bairstow.
Kane Williamson was a calming influence on Bairstow in the match against Punjab Kings, which SRH won by nine wickets, and it proved the right move what with Manish Pandey failing to take the team to victory — they fell short by 10, 6 and 13 runs — in the first three matches.
Though not called to action against Punjab Kings, the SRH batting wears a settled look, while their bowling has always been a potent weapon with Bhuvneshwar and Rashid Khan in the ranks.

The Afghan leggie has only five wickets to show but the pressure he exerted has helped others. Rashid will relish the challenge of bowling to his former teammate Shikhar Dhawan, in splendid form, and Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant. Prithvi Shaw has been quiet after a brilliant start.
Though SRH lead the overall head-to-head record, Delhi have been their bogey team of late. Avesh Khan is No.3 in the bowling chart, Amit Mishra has already made a mark and with Kagiso Rabada waiting to strike, it should be a fascinating contest.
