BENGALURU: A jolly trip to Nandi Hills proved costly for four Bengaluru teenagers who drowned in Ramanathapura Lake near Devanahalli Sunday evening.

Police said all boys are residents of Chamundinagar near RT Nagar and studying PUC in a private college. All four decided to go for a picnic to Nandi Hills and they left the city by early morning. They visited Nandi Hills and nearby areas. They took a shortcut to return to Bengaluru and reached Ramanathapura village. They decided to play and swim in the lake. Parents and relatives of the deceased were rushed to the lake.
Police said they have shifted the two bodies to a mortuary for postmortem examination.
