MUMBAI: Two days after a 36-year-old woman and her three-year-old son had gone missing, their bodies were found floating in a nullah at Chunabhatti on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Shruti Mahadik and Rajveer. The police said they have found a suicide note.
For now, an accidental death report has been filed in the case and the police said they are investigating if it is a case of suicide.
According to the police, the woman and her son, who lived with her in-laws at Lal Dongar in Chembur, had gone missing and were untraceable. The family carried out a search after which they lodged a missing person’s complaint at Chunabhatti police station.
During scrutiny of CCTV cameras in the vicinity, the police noticed something falling into the nullah that is located right behind the building where the woman’s father lives. The police said that the father of the deceased had levelled some allegations against her in-laws which the police are probing. TNN
