NAVI MUMBAI: Uran police on Saturday arrested a 34-year-old brick kiln worker for allegedly killing his wife by pushing her in a pond in Jambulpada.
Cops have also arrested his brother and a friend for secretly burying the woman’s body near the pond, without informing her relatives.
The deceased has been identified as Vijaya Waghmare (34), a rag picker; and the accused as husband Samadhan Katkari, his brother Navnath Katkari (29) and a friend Gajanan Katkari (29), all brick kiln workers.
Senior inspector Jitendra Sonawane informed that Katkari was Waghmare’s second husband. Waghmare’s cousin Suresh Hilam (33) was informed about her murder by an anonymous caller.
Later Katkari confessed to Hilam about killing Waghmare as he had caught her cheating on him with another man.
