THANE: A 22-year-old resident of Agasan, Diva died after his bike skid due to potholes and came under the rear wheels of an oncoming tanker on the Diva Agasan road late Sunday evening, officials informed.
This could probably be the seventh road mishap caused due to bad roads in the domain of chief minister Eknath Shinde.
Officials said the biker was on his way home when he failed to control his bike while manoeuvring a potholed stretch and lost balance and fell on the road. An oncoming tanker crushed the biker probably killing him on the spot.
The incident has irked many locals who questioned the delay in the road upgradation work. A delegation of locals led by BJP leader Rohidas Munde is likely to meet civic officials and elected representatives for the mishap on Monday.
MNS MLA Raju Patil also tweeted about the incident questioning the spate of pothole related road mishaps in the chief minister Eknath Shinde’s city.
Police said they are investigating the case further.
