Wolverhampton Wanderers moved out of the English Premier League relegation zone and left Nottingham Forest there after a Ruben Neves penalty separated the two strugglers by 1-0 on Saturday.

Neves converted from the spot after 56 minutes at Molineux to secure the manager-less home team only its second league win.
Forest missed an opportunity to share the points when Brennan Johnson’s 79th-minute penalty was saved by Jose Sa.
Interim managers Steve Davis and James Collins are in charge of Wolves until a successor is found for Bruno Lage, who was fired this month.
The pair has lifted the mood around the club after securing a crucial win against a rival that is also fighting for survival.
Wolves were close to going ahead in the first half when Max Kilman’s header struck the post.
But the game came down to two penalties, both awarded after VAR checks.
Adama Traore’s shot struck Harry Toffolo’s arm and, after a lengthy review, referee Thomas Bramall went to the monitor to eventually award the penalty, which Neves fired home.
VAR intervened again after Matheus Nunes pulled back Ryan Yates, but Johnson couldn’t beat Sa from the spot.

The Serbia striker was hauled down by Lerma on a free kick and his penalty kick sent Neto diving the other way.</p> <p>Center-back Issa Diop headed in a corner in the 22nd minute to pull Fulham even at 1-1, but Lerma restored the lead for the visitors seven minutes later when he one-timed Solanke’s pass into the bottom right corner past Bernd Leno.</p> <p>Leno prevented further damage shortly before halftime when he blocked Lerma’s downward header and deflected Adam Smith’s follow-up.</p> <p>Bournemouth has yet to lose since it fired Scott Parker after losing to Liverpool 9-0. The club has two wins and four draws since Parker’s departure and hosts Southampton on Wednesday.</p> <p>Fulham ended a two-game losing skid and hosts Aston Villa on Thursday.</p> <h4>Leicester Held by Visitors Palace</h4> <p>Leicester missed the chance to climb out of the Premier League’s bottom three with a 0-0 draw at home against Crystal Palace on Saturday.</p> <p>In the day’s early kick-off at the King Power Stadium, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers knew it was a chance to lift his team out of the relegation zone with a win. And with Wolverhampton and Forest meeting on Saturday as well, it was an opportunity to capitalize on its closest rivals going head-to-head.</p> <p>The result means Leicester could still end the day back at the bottom of the table to keep the pressure on Rodgers.</p> <p>“The modern game, if you are not winning, it opens you up to criticism and I accept that,” he told BT Sport. “The players are fighting and running and giving everything.</p> <p>“I always felt after the summer market we would have to fight our way through the season, but the players are doing that and hopefully we will get better results as the season goes on.”</p> <p>Read all the <a href=Latest Sports News and Breaking News here
