NEW DELHI: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday held PM Narendra Modi responsible for the second wave of the coronavirus in India.
“Why didn’t you (PM) make plans to stop corona in the last 6 months?… You have to answer this. Prime Minister is responsible for second wave of Covid-19,” said Mamata, while addressing the media over the Covid situation in the state.
Mamata further said If the PM would have taken responsibility at right time, then this (second wave) wouldn’t have happened.
The West Bengal CM also once again requested Election Commission to bundle the remaining phases in Bengal to a single phase due to the coronavirus.
“With folded hands, I request Election Commission to hold three phases of polls on a single day or in two days. Please don’t play with the lives of people,” said Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Chakulia, Uttar Dinajpur.
“Please don’t take your decision based on what the BJP says… Please ensure that you protect public health by curtailing the poll schedule, even if it is by one day,” the TMC supremo said.
