PUNE: A motorcycle rider (31) died after his vehicle collided head on with a PMPML bus near Aglambe village on Kondhwa-Dhawade road around 5pm on Friday.
The victim, Shankar Kale (31) from Jambli village in taluka Haveli, succumbed to multiple injuries to his head, face and legs. Later, the Uttamnagar police arrested the bus driver, Kamlakar Shewale (29) from Wagholi, on the charge of causing the victim’s death due to negligence under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code.
Investigation officer Gajanan Chavan said, “The bus driver told the police that he was driving safely and blamed the biker for driving in high speed and colliding head-on with the bus.”
The police said the PMPML bus was passing from Kondhwa-Dhawade road via Thakarwadi and Aglambe village when it hit the motorcyclist, heading to Jambli village from Market Yard. The front tyre of the bike got twisted. The bike’s headlight and fibre cover got damaged.
