Samsung rolls out Android 11 update for a two-year-old budget smartphone – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung is one company that takes software updates quite seriously. The company has already rolled out the Android 11 update for many of its last year launched smartphones. Now Samsung has started rolling Android 11 update for the two-year-old budget smartphone — Galaxy M40.
Launched in 2019, the smartphone has started receiving Android 11 update in India. This is the second major software update for the smartphone as last year it received an Android 10 update.
Along with Android 11, the smartphone also receives One UI 3.1.
The new firmware update comes with version number M405FDDU2CUC6 and weighs 2GB in size. The software update also brings a security patch for the month of March 2021.
After the update, Samsung Galaxy M40 users will be able to experience Android 11 features like default screen recorder, better media controller, native smart home control, one-time permission to apps, security fixes via Google Play and others.
Samsung Galaxy M40 specifications
Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with 6GB of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy M40 offer 128GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB by adding a microSD card. The dual SIM smartphone comes equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup with a 32MP main sensor, 5MP depth sensor and 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The front is home to a 16MP selfie shooter.
The device is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with fast charging support.
