Student injured in blast near Tripura school | Agartala News – Times of India

AGARTALA: A 15-year-old student was injured after a crude bomb went off near a school building at Kalsimura village of Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Wednesday, police said.
Superintendent of police B J Reddy said the incident happened when the students of the Kalsimura school were playing in an open place near the school building.

Taiful Islam, a student of Class 9, saw an unattended packet while attending nature’s call in the open ground and tried to open it resulting in an explosion, the SP said.
The school administration sent Taiful to Sonamura hospital from where he was referred to Agartala Government Hospital and Medical College. He is currently under treatment for burn and other injuries.

“A bomb disposal squad reached the spot and defused four bombs that were kept in the packet. The squad believes there were five low-intensity crude bombs in the packet. The forensic team and experts along with police are investigating the incident,” Reddy said.
