After failing to create an impact with the historical drama Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar will soon come up with the Hindi remake of superstar Suriya’s much-celebrated Soorarai Pottru. Now if trade experts are to be believed then Kumar’s remake has been titled as Startup.
Trade experts Atul Mohan and Girish Johar have tweeted about this development on their respective Twitter handles. Girish Johar tweeted, “#SooraraiPottru remake in Hindi is #StartUp !!! @akshaykumar @radhikamadan01 @Suriya_offl.” Whereas Atul Mohan shared the news by tweeting, “#Exclusive #AkshayKumar ‘s Hindi remake of #SooraraiPottru has been titled #Startup!”

Now, this news got viral in no time, but is the title of the film locked? Soorarai Pottru’s remake is produced by Suriya, his wife Jyotika and Vikram Malhotra. As per the report of Etimes, Vikram has denied the development and said, “No title confirmed yet.” The report further added that other sources have also hinted that the title would be different.
Back in April, when the remake was announced, Akshay had requested title suggestions from his followers. On his official Instagram account, Akshay Kumar posted a video of the film’s mahurat shot. Radhika Madan, his co-star, is seen smashing a coconut in the video. Sharing the video on Instagram, Akshay Kumar wrote, “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes (sic).”

Speaking of Suriya’s film, the Tamil drama was released on OTT platforms in 2020 to critical accolades and praises. Soorarai Pottru starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal in primary roles. Apart from Soorarai Pottru remake, Akshay will also star in Ram Setu, Anand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan, and Selfiee with Emraan Hashmi.
