NASHIK: A 17-year-old youth, who had gone to bath along with his friends in the Gandhi Talav of Godavari river in Nashik drowned on Friday.
The deceased youth was identified as Saharsh Rajendra Bhalerao, a resident of Navnathnagar.
The Panchavati police have registered a case of accidental death.
The police said that Saharsh was swimming in Gandhi talav with his at around 4pm.
While having fun in the water, Saharsh could not gauge the depth of the pond and drowned.
He was taken out by the lifeguards deployed at the river banks and was sent to the Nashik civil. However, the medical authorities declared him brought dead.
