THANE: The Thane sessions court convicted the step-father of a girl and the supervisor of a construction site on Ghodbunder road for sexually assaulting the victim who was 16 at the time.
The additional sessions judge and special Judge VV Virkar held the step-father (45), who works as a mason, guilty of offences punishable under the Pocso Act and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The judge also imposed the fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused said the prosecutor.
The other accused (27) was also found guilty and sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. Special public prosecutor Rekha Hiwrale told the court that it was between 2016 and 2018 both the accused raped the victim when she was alone at home.
