NASHIK: Three persons drowned in a lake in Igatpuri in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Saturday, a police official said.
Rameez Abdul Qadir Sheikh (36), Nadeem Abdul Qadir Sheikh (34), both residents of Bhiwandi in Thane, and Shahnawaz Sheikh (41) drowned while swimming in the Nagar Parishad lake, he said.
“Rameez and Nadeem started to drown and Shahnawaz tried to save them. All three lost their lives. There kin protested claiming they died due to lack of facilities at the local hospital where they were rushed to by passersby,” he said.
