The injured trainee woman pilot has been identified as 22-year-old Bhavika Rathod, who was on a routine training sortie

A trainee woman pilot escaped with minor injuries after a small trainer aircraft she was flying crashed into a field near Kadbanwadi in Indapur tehsil of Maharashtra’s Pune district between 11.20 and 11.25am on Monday, police said.

According to the police, the aircraft belonging to a private academy took off from Baramati and was flying at a height of 3,200 feet when it came down and crashed into the farm. The injured pilot has been identified as Bhavika Rathod (22) who was on a routine training sortie. She was taken to Navjeevan Hospital, Shelgaon for treatment. People familiar with the matter said that the aircraft run out of fuel after which it crash landed into the open field belonging to Dadaram Abaji Barate.

The aircraft belongs to Academy of Carver Aviation Private Limited (ACAPL) in Baramati.The academy’s marketing official, Sumit Rathod, said, “DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) is investigating the case. Trainee pilot alone was there in the aircraft and definitely not more than two. There are no major injuries and the trainee pilot is safe.”

Following the incident, villagers from the Pondkule village rushed to the spot and pulled out the woman pilot to safety.However, the aircraft was badly damaged due to the crash impact. Senior police officials and officials of Carver aviation rushed to the spot to assess the damage and probe the accident.

    A trainer aircraft on Monday crashed in a farm in Pune district of Maharashtra. According to a statement by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation, the incident happened due to a suspected power loss. Initial reports claimed that the 22-year-old trainee pilot onboard, Bhavika Rathod, was injured. However, the DGCA said that there were no injuries reported. The incident happened in Kadbanwadi village of Indapur taluka in Pune district.

    Mangaluru news: Ex-bank employee found dead in Netravati river, probable suicide

    The body of a 65-year-old man was found in the Netravati River near Mangaluru on Sunday evening. Speaking to Hindustan Times, a police official said, “On July 24, we found a dead body at Netravathi river at 9 pm.     Actor Vicky Kaushal on Monday lodged a complaint at Mumbai’s Santacruz police station against an unknown social media user for allegedly stalking his wife and actor Katrina Kaif and threatening the couple on Instagram, police said. According to the police, Kaushal claimed that the accused had been posting threatening messages on Instagram against him and also stalking Kaif.
