Novak Djokovic has admitted that he didn’t start well during his semifinal win over Cameron Norrie on Friday.

Djokovic didn’t have the best of starts as the British star breezed past him in the first set to secure it with a score of 6-2. However, the Serbian bounced back in top fashion as he stunned Norrie and the Centre Court crowd with a tremendous fightback.

The No.1 seed claimed the second and third sets in quick succession with a score of 6-2 and 6-3. While Norrie did try to resist Djokovic from claiming the win in the fourth set, the Serbian was too strong as he reached his eighth Wimbledon final.

Speaking after the game, Djokovic admitted that he didn’t make the best of starts in the game and said that the British star was the best player in the first set. He also said that Norrie was probably playing the tournament of his life and said he had a lot of respect for the 26-year-old.

“I didn’t start off well. He was the better player for the first set. Cameron didn’t have much to lose. He’s playing probably the tournament of his life. I wish him all the best, he’s a great player, I have a lot of respect for him,” said Djokovic.

Awaiting Djokovic in the final is Nick Kyrgios, who got a bye after Rafael Nadal was forced to pull out from the semifinal match after an abdominal injury.

Speaking about the clash on Sunday, Djokovic told the fans to expect fireworks. He said that both men haven’t played each other in a longtime and the No.1 seed hasn’t been able to win a set off Kyrgios.

“There’s going to be a lot of fireworks! We haven’t played for some time. Never won a set off him,” said Djokovic.
