Zoom adds support for Vanishing Pen and full emoji suite and more features – Times of India

Video conferencing platform Zoom has announced an update that will bring not only new features to meeting rooms but also comes with bug fixes and security enhancements.
Starting with the meeting features first, Zoom is rolling out a new annotation tool called Vanishing Pen. This will allow the presenter to mark on the shared screen to highlight certain information.
The company is also adding support for a full emoji suite for reactions, which means any emoji available for Zoom chat can be used as a reaction in a meeting. However, the host will have the option to restrict reactions to the standard set or allow the use of the full emoji suite.
Besides these features, Zoom is also rolling out improvements in power consumption, enhanced data privacy notices, more alerts about untrusted server certificates and more.
Earlier this week, the company announced that it has created a $100 million fund to invest in startup software companies that build apps using its technology.
Zoom Chief Financial Officer Kelly Steckelberg had told Reuters that the fund will make investments of between $250,000 and $2.5 million into companies building “Zoom Apps” that plug into the company’s video conferencing software to add new features to it.
